Adrian is a single Dad to two teenage daughters, their Mum walked out of their lives over three years ago and left the family with large amounts of debts. At this point, Adrian’s health declined, and he struggled with his previous job and was made redundant. Adrian’s daughters pushed him to try and get a job that he really wanted to do and that would make him happy, and HGV was at the top of his list, but there was no way he could afford to pay for the qualification.
We met Adrian last April, and it was clear from the beginning that he is exactly the sort of person we love to support. Adrian flung himself into his training, but money issues continued to plague him, to the point that he ended up having to sell many of his and the families personal possessions to put food on the table and provide for his girls. He passed his test first time and within a few days had found employment through RTL, at Sea Transport.
Adrian is now living his best life and it is a real privilege to watch such a lovely guy, who had been down on his luck for so long, thrive, grow in confidence, and enjoy life once more. Adrian’s words: “Just over a year on from completing my course I have been working as a driver with Sea Transport, my health has renewed and mine and my children’s lives have changed for the better thanks to Road To Logistics and the work coach that I had at the time, my debts are behind me and my future is bright and I have a job for life.”
We are not giving out hand-outs at Road to Logistics, we are removing barriers so people can empower themselves to gain a meaningful qualification and move into a career in logistics.
