Aaron’s Road to Recovery

Image of Aaron B after gaining his qualification.I had just come out of the other end of a nasty break-up with a long-term partner. I’d dropped out of my degree due to bad mental health problems, unable to find work after that and was struggling to get myself in a more positive place.

I have always fancied and quite liked the prospect of becoming a truck driver, given my dad has held his license for as long as I’ve been alive. I’ve been around and seen the career a lot throughout my life and it seemed an ideal way to further myself in something I’d actually enjoy.

I found the Road to Logistics program easy and precise to follow. The hands-on training, especially in the truck, to prepare myself for the tests was fantastic, always willing to help and answer questions, taking it at a steady pace fit to the person learning.

I am now self-employed, working a variety of routes up and down the country. I am quite fond of the work. It was what I expected from learning from my dad. The money is fantastic. The only slight negative is the long days, but that doesn’t really bother me.

Achieving my career in logistics, it means a lot. My dad especially was very proud, but for me personally, it helped get me out of quite a dark place and have a much more positive outlook on the future.

I am very grateful to Road to Logistics for the support they have given me throughout the program and for the additional support in helping me find work. I now have a bright future ahead of me! Thank you again to everyone at Road to Logistics that trusted me with this opportunity and helped every step of the way.
